Nso results 2009 in India

National Science Olympiad (NSO) is a non-profit organization established by leading academicians, scientists and media personalities with the aim of promoting science, mathematics and computer education, the Science Olympiad Foundation has been striving for over a decade to promote scientific attitude through innovative activities and use of IT in learning process that involve school students across the country.

The Science Olympiad Foundation has declared the 12th NSO results 2009 and the result is available online.

The results are available at SOF website i.e. http://sof.org.in/12nso/

The 12th NSO was conducted on November 19, 2009. The objective of the science Olympiad is to provide a national and international level platform to assess their ability.

According to the website, the 3rd IMO results will be declared on Feb 1, 2010.

The 13th National Science Olympiad is scheduled to be held in November 2010.

There will be partial lunar eclipse today

Today December 31, there will be a partial Lunar eclipse. This is visible to Srilanka and to the regions covering Alaska, Australia, Indonesia, India, South Africa, Europe, Arctic regions.

The eclipse begins by 10.47 p.m tonight with the moon entering into the earth's shadow, but the dimming on the moonlight at this phase may not be noticeable. the eclipse will be clearly visible for 22 minutes pass the midnight (12.22 a.m.), soon after the dawn of the new year 2010.

At that time the moon enters into the Umbra the dark part of the earth's shadow. The eclipse will be visible till the moon leaves the Umbra at 1.23 a.m. on January 01, 2010.

The middle of the eclipse takes place at 12.53 a.m. on 1st morning. The eclipse ends at 2.58 a.m. on January 01, 2010 with the moon leaving the penumbra of the earth shadow. There is no harm of observing lunar eclipses with naked eyes, said Senior Lecturer in Physics, University of Colombo and Consultant to the Space Applications Division of the Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies, Dr. Chandana Jayaratne.

1. Sonia Gandhi

Now She become a real politician. She hailed from a different race and country, worshipped a different God and spoke a different language. He is the first person who brought the Oscar to india as an indian. We already owe him a big one big for relentlessly bring to us the best in music, but his latest stint in Hollywood have given Rahman’s fans another reason to hero worship the gifted musician. After wooing music lovers in India, Rahman with his ‘Jai Ho’ composition for Slumdog Millionaire, not only bagged maximum nominations at the Academy Awards, but also brought home the Oscar for the ‘Best Music Score.’ The man has quietly raised the bar for the Indian music fraternity to outshine in the international arena.

 5. Abhinav Bindra

This shooter got the chance to live the dream that every Indian has cherished – of brining home the Olympic gold! The quiet and bespectacled Bindra brought laurels to the nation by getting his hands on the first ever individual Olympic Gold medal in 108 years.

Thanks to him, the world salutes the Indian national flag and our anthem was played in the honour of his historic victory! Soon, the ordinary Bindra became extra-ordinary and the country got another reason to feel proud!

Indian Navy Invites Applications for Permanent position for Short Service Commissioned (PSC) Officer in Education Branch

The Course will be Commencing on July 2010. Applications are invited from unmarried Male Indian Citizens for Permanent Commission (PC) Officer in Education Branch of the Indian Navy for Course commencing July-2010 at NAVAC, INS Zamorin Ezhimala, Kerala.

Age should be between 21 to 25 years (candidates to be born between 02 July 1985 to 01 July 1989; both dates inclusive)

Educational Qualifications:

• BE/B.Tech. with 60% marks in Electronics/ Electricals/ Mechanical/ Telecommunication/ IT/Computer Science and BE/ B.Tech (EEE/ ECE) with minimum 60% marks OR
• A Master’s Degree in one of the following with minimum 50% marks – Physics (with Maths in B.Sc.), Maths (with Physics in B.Sc.), Chemistry, Computer Application (with Physics or Maths in B.Sc.) Computer Science (with Physics or Maths in B.Sc.) IT, English and History.

Physical Standards : Height and Weight : Minimum height Male – 157 cms with correlated weight. Eye Sight – The minimum acceptable standard for distant vision 6/60, 6/60 connectable to 6/6, 6/12 with glasses and should not be colour/night blind.

Short Service Commission Term: Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirements and performance/willingness of the candidate.
