Universal phone charger approved International Telecommunication Union (ITU)


International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a United Nations body has approved that a new mobile phone charger that will work with any handset. according to the industry news there is 51,000 tonnes of redundant chargers are generated each year which consumes lot of resources like material, time, man power, money..etc.

Current every brand is manufacturing their own chargers, some times they are prodct specific too. So to provide a common solution ITU has decided to approve the common charger for all mobile phones.

The director of ITU, Malcolm Johnson has told that "This is a significant step in reducing the environmental impact of mobile charging".

This universal charger will hit the market probably in the next year 2010.
